Maharashtra DGP Rashmi Shukla has taken strict action, dismissing Wadala TT Senior Police Inspector Chandrakant Sarode and PSI Rahul Waghmode from service immediately. The duo was caught red-handed by the ACB in September 2025 while accepting the first instalment of a ₹4.5 lakh bribe. They had demanded a total of ₹5.5 lakh to avoid naming a complainant's daughter as an accused in a case and to take action against the rival party in a community hall dispute. This swift dismissal, within two months of the arrest, is a rare and strong message against corruption in the police force. महाराष्ट्राच्या पोलीस महासंचालक रश्मी शुक्ला यांनी कठोर कारवाई करत वडाळा टीटीचे तत्कालीन वरिष्ठ पोलीस निरीक्षक चंद्रकांत सरोदे आणि उपनिरीक्षक राहुल वाघमोडे यांना तत्काळ सेवेतून बडतर्फ केले आहे. सप्टेंबर २०२५ मध्ये, एका गुन्ह्यात तक्रारदाराच्या मुलीला आरोपी न करण्यासाठी आणि विरोधी गटावर कारवाई करण्यासाठी त्यांनी ५.५ लाख रुपयांची लाच मागितली होती. लाचेचा पहिला हप्ता २.३० लाख रुपये स्वीकारताना लाचलुचपत प्रतिबंधक विभागाने (ACB) त्यांना रंगेहाथ पकडले होते. अटकेनंतर दोन महिन्यांतच झालेली ही बडतर्फी भ्रष्टाचाराविरुद्ध कठोर संदेश देणारी कारवाई मानली जात आहे.
