During the election campaign in Bhiwandi, a clash broke out between BJP and Congress groups using sticks, chairs and stones. Two people were injured and the police resorted to lathicharge to disperse the crowd. Candidates who were excluded from the official BJP list met Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. Serious allegations have been made against City President Kasangottuwar and MLA Kishore Jorgewar. Candidates have demanded registration of a case under Section 420.
