Dombivli: The Railway administration has issued eviction notices to 209 households in Ganeshnagar and Bhagwan Katenagar, Dombivli (West), alleging encroachment on railway land. Dated December 9, the notices have caused distress among residents who assert they legally purchased their homes from private developers between 2012 and 2013. These families, who have diligently paid municipal taxes, are now facing uncertainty. The Ganeshnagar Purnavasan Kriti Samiti organised a meeting, attended by former corporator Janardan Mhatre and RPI (Athawale group) representatives, to discuss the crisis. A memorandum was submitted to MLA Ravindra Chavan and MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde, urging immediate intervention for rehabilitation or fair compensation. Residents are demanding a thorough investigation into the developers’ actions and transparency regarding land ownership. With no official response yet from the railway administration or state government, the affected families remain anxious about their future, seeking urgent resolution.
