While hearing a petition, the bench observed that charging Rs 100 for water and Rs 700 for coffee is too high, warning that high rates could lead to empty cinema halls in future. The observation came during the hearing on the Karnataka High Court order to cap ticket prices. मल्टिप्लेक्समधील खाद्यपदार्थ आणि पेयांच्या अवाजवी किमतींवर सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने तीव्र नाराजी व्यक्त केली आहे. एका याचिकेवर सुनावणी करताना, न्यायालयाने पाण्यासाठी ₹१०० आणि कॉफीसाठी ₹७०० आकारणे खूप जास्त असल्याचे म्हटले आहे, तसेच दर कमी न केल्यास भविष्यात चित्रपटगृहे रिकामी होतील, असा इशारा दिला आहे. कर्नाटक उच्च न्यायालयाच्या तिकीट दरावरील सुनावणीदरम्यान हे निरीक्षण नोंदवले.
