उपराष्ट्रपती पदाच्या निवडणुकीसाठी मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी ज्येष्ठ नेते शरद पवार यांना फोन करून पाठिंब्याची विनंती केली होती. मात्र, आपल्या गटाच्या भूमिकेबद्दल स्पष्टीकरण देत शरद पवारांनी भाजपच्या उमेदवाराला पाठिंबा देणे शक्य नसल्याचे सांगितले. आमचे उमेदवार आमच्या विचारांचे असल्याचे त्यांनी म्हटले.
